TURKEY TIME

It’s that time again. Turkey time!  Now that you are no longer married, it’s time to make changes. Don’t delve into memories from the past. You are a seasoned woman embarking on a new and exciting life.  Your life is just beginning.  Leave the past in the past where it belongs.  It’s time to make new holiday traditions!  The most important thing is to spend this holiday with loved ones. If you are like me, you want to minimize the cooking and clean up.  As a newly single seasoned woman, make the most of your time.  If you love to cook, then by all means do so.  Another approach would be to ask the invitees to your Thanksgiving celebration to bring their specialty dish on that day.  Make a list ahead of time so that you have enough of each dish. Everyone always knew to ask me to bring drinks, rolls, paper plates, etc.  They knew I couldn’t cook, and this has not changed over the years.  Yet another good alternative is to order Thanksgiving dinner from a local restaurant or other establishments that offer this service. This is my favorite choice.  I typically order from more than one place. I may order the turkey and ham from one place and order the sides from another place.  I often doctor the sides to make them seem like more of my own.  I must say that I have gotten pretty good at this.  When I warm up the ham, I garnish it with pineapple juice and brown sugar.  I then cover it up, put it in the oven, and warm it. You could always go to someone else’s house for Thanksgiving.  I think I may like this choice even better.  Whatever your decision, enjoy your day and try not to focus on the past.  Focus on the future.  Live your best life.  After all, you only get one.
