FINDING LOVE AFTER A DIVORCE
Looking in the mirror, you wonder where the years have gone. You were married for so long. The thought of dating again terrifies you. You wonder if it is too soon to date after your divorce. It is recommended that you wait an average of two years after a divorce to start dating. This will help to ensure you don’t bring baggage from the old relationship into a new relationship. Try not to get involved in a rebound relationship. They usually don’t last. The dating world has changed, and this will take some getting used to. There are more options today to find dates for seasoned women. There are dating websites that cater to seniors. Many churches have singles groups. There is also the long-existing option of blind dates. This one worked for me in my early dating years. It is still a good option. Another option is to attend various events. Make a list and get started. Try sporting events, sports bars, cigar bars, wine tastings, political functions, bowling alleys, and charity events. Believe it or not, I have met several guys at home improvement stores such as Lowes and Home Depot. Some of the stores even offer classes. Get moving. You won’t find someone sitting on the couch or watching TV. I met a few guys while walking at local tracks. I met a guy in passing at a small church while I was still married. I ended up dating him once I was divorced. We are still dating. When I initially met him, I never dreamed we would end up dating each other. Better yet, I didn’t have a clue I would be getting divorced. So, you never know where you will find love. It may be someone you have already met or someone you accidentally run into. The grocery store is another good option. I have met several good prospects there. The key is to be patient and keep an open mind. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
