BE MY VALENTINE

BE MY VALENTINE

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.  Will you be someone’s sweetheart?  Have you found that special someone?  If not, don’t despair. This day comes around every year.  Besides, you don’t need a box of high-calorie chocolates.  What goes through the lips, goes to the hips.  You can buy your own bottle of champagne. Invite some friends over and share the bottle.  So, what if you don’t receive any flowers.  Go buy yourself a nice red dress and be your own valentine.  Yes, be the lady in red.  It’s far better to be by yourself than with the wrong person.  Being alone on holidays like Valentine’s Day can be depressing, but this too shall pass.  Before you know it, Valentine’s Day will be rolling around again.  Trust me.  My first Valentine’s Day alone caused me a lot of grief.  I was used to getting a gift for the past thirty-five years.  I cried.  Then I sucked it up, put on my big-girl panties, and got past it.  After a recent break-up, I will be spending Valentine’s Day by myself again.  And you know what, I am okay with that.  Take this time to reflect on your New Year’s resolutions.  Are you sticking to them?  Work on your budget.  After overspending during the holidays like most of us probably did, this should be a good idea. Go to my resources page.  You will find two budget worksheets there.  Let me know if you have any questions on either worksheet.  If you are thinking of starting a business, you will find helpful links on my resources page also.  Let this be the year for new beginnings.  What is it that you have always wanted to do but fear stopped you?  Be like the Nike commercial, and just do it!
